If a traffic citation has been issued for you to appear before the Franklin County District Court and you fail to pay or otherwise dispose of your case prior to the court date and fail to appear on your court date, a warrant may be issued for your arrest. Additionally, your driver’s license may be suspended by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the fine may be increased, and any bond posted may be forfeited.
Tickets listed in the chart on the next page may be paid by entering a guilty plea without a required court appearance. If you wish to avoid a court appearance and enter a plea of guilty, sign the defendant’s plea of guilty on the back of your copy of the ticket and attach your money order or cashier’s check for the amount of fine and costs indicated and mail it to:

DEFENSIVE DRIVING SCHOOL OPTION
You have been approved to attend either the Level 1 (4-hour) or Level 2 (8-hour) Defensive Driving Class. You may attend an in-person certified class close to where you live. It will be up to you to locate a class near to you. The Court will NOT accept a certificate from an on-line class.
In the Franklin County area, the Franklin County Community Corrections office offers a bi-monthly Saturday morning class. If you wish to attend this class, please contact their office at (256) 332-8409 to schedule and pay for the class.
